The Group of Frogs
As a group of frogs were traveling through the woods, two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs crowded around the pit and saw how deep it was, they told the two frogs that they’re was no hope left for them.
However, the two frogs decided to ignore what the others were saying and they proceeded to try and jump out of the pit. Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of he pit were still saying that they should just give up. That they would never make it out.
Eventually, one of the frogs took heed to what the others were saying and he gave up, falling down to his death. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die.
He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?”
The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.

A shepherd gathered his flock at the end of the day only to find the flock one short. Looking around he heard the lamb bleating so he followed the sound only to find the lamb had fallen into a dry well. The shepherd called his friends to help him retrieve the lamb, but his friend convinced him that it was too narrow and deep for someone to go down and bring the lamb back up.
Sure they were right he decided to fill in the well, covering the lamb, so that none of the rest of the flock would fall in. He gathered enough soil and started to shovel it in. After a while he stopped to look down the well and see how much more he a had to go, to his surprise the lamb was standing on top of the soil. Apparently, as he was shoveling the dirt in the lamb, instead of giving up, would stand on top of the new soil, thus rising himself up as the dirt filled in the well. With great exuberance the shepherd went back to shoveling in the soil until it was level with the top and the lamb was free.
Moral of the story (from the lamb’s point of view), even when others give up on you don’t give up on yourself, you might surprise others on just how good you are.

Love this! Sometimes the other frogs are our own voice. I’ve heard it said that we ought to stop listening to ourselves and instead start talking to ourselves.
