Road Trip

Morning Story and Dilbert

Vintage Dilbert
June 6, 2002

While on a road trip, an elderly couple stopped at a roadside restaurant for lunch. After finishing their meal, they left the restaurant, and resumed their trip. When leaving, the elderly woman unknowingly left her glasses on the table, and she didn’t miss them until they had been driving for about forty minutes. By then, to add to the aggravation, they had to travel quite a distance before they could find a place to turn around in order to return to the restaurant to retrieve her glasses. All the way back the elderly husband became the classic grouchy old man. He fussed and complained and scolded his wife relentlessly during the entire return drive. The more he chided her the more agitated he became.

He just wouldn’t let up for a single minute. To her relief they finally arrived at the restaurant. As the woman got out of the car and hurried inside to retrieve her glasses, the old geezer yelled to her, “While you’re in there you might as well get my hat and the credit card”.

  3. Oh my…having spent most of the last year with my 90 plus parents, I’m really hearing this…. Not that I, at 56, am immune! Cute, and fairly (or unfairly) true! Blessings!

    • At 90 years old, I thank we all are entitled to be a little grumpy!!! LOL Take Care and God Bless 🙂 Kenny T

    • Matthew 7:2-6 (King James Version)

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again……….

Thanks for the scripture reference… Take Care and God Bless 🙂 Kenny T

The comic strip brought a smile to my face…and then I read the story and laughed hysterically! Thanks for brightening my morning! Blessings!

  5. Funny! But, man! I realized I can identify with that old grumpy man, complaining about the things other people (esp. my kids) do that I’m guilty of as well. Thanks for posting this!

  6. So, I’ve got 18 years before I can start yelling at my wife! Funny story, but, sadly, too often true.
