Where is God

Morning Story and Dilbert

He was just a little boy, on a week’s first day. He was wandering home from Sunday School, and dawdling on the way. He scuffed his shoes into the grass; he found a caterpillar. He found a fluffy milkweed pod, and blew out all the “filler.”

A bird’s nest in a tree overhead, so wisely placed on high, Was just another wonder that caught his eager eye. A neighbor watched his zig zag course, and hailed him from the lawn, Asked him where he’d been that day and what was going on.

“I’ve been to Bible School,” he said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, “I’ve learned a lot of God.”

“M’m very fine way,” the neighbor said, “for a boy to spend his time. If you’ll tell me where God is, I’ll give you a brand new dime.”

Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. ”I’ll give you a dollar, Mister, if you can tell me where God ain’t.”

  3. I couldn’t agree more..Once I was blind ; but now I see..And now that I see; my GOD is everywhere around me..In those that I consider my friends..In those that are strangers; yet possibly potential friends. In the lovely breath-taking views nature has to offer..In the flowers; I so often take time to stop to smell..In the actions of those towards me that I never could’ve anticipated. GOD is everywhere and in everyone. He IS..see all of the beautiful thoughts your post brought to my mind this morning? As usual I thank you…Stay UPlifted & blessed 🙂

  4. Becoming aware that God is everywhere is a great way to measure the condition of our soul:
    – Do we consider that good news,
    – or bad news?

Thanks for making me think Kenny T!
Be blessed… and be a blessing! Bill

  6. Excuse me for being a teacher here, but this is a poem written into prose. Someone did the original writer an injustice. The message is fine; I like the message; just being grumpy, maybe.

Ahh, this was really cute! Reminded me of my 4 year old granddaughter. We take her to Sunday School, and just last Sunday after church, we were standing in an area, waiting for a trolley to arrive, and she looked at me, and pointed to the area around where she stood, and said “God is right here, Grandma”. When I agreed with her, she began to point in every direction, and on every thing, proudly proclaiming that “God is EVERY where”! 🙂 So sweet…thanks for sharing this story with us! Have a wonderful day!

  9. I agree with “The Shepherd’s Presence.” Love the piece, always enjoy when the simple confounds the wise. But it’s a poem, and deserves the correct format. English teachers are persnickety 🙂
