We have a Big God

Morning Story and Dilbert

Vintage Dilbert
April 16, 2002

This is a story about a little girl who, on the way home from church, turned to her mother and said, “Mommy, the Preacher’s sermon this morning confused me.”

The mother said, “Oh! Why is that?

The girl replied, “Well, he said that God is bigger than we are. Is that true?”

“Yes, that’s true,” the mother replied.

“He also said that God lives within us. Is that true too?”

Again the mother replied, “Yes.”

“Well,” said the girl. “If God is bigger than us and He lives in us, wouldn’t He show through?”

Now, how can we answer to this little girl when it’s taken literally. I like your Dilbert cartoons.

  3. So if He’s bigger than us, He must live not only inside us but outside of us, all around us, above and below us too. Comforting thought.

  4. If we allow Him to be bigger than we are, yes indeed, He would show through! Lord, help us to allow you to show through us in everything we do!

  7. I agree… “out of the mouth of babes comes wisdom!” God is bigger, but I think the only ways humans can get a sense of that is when we allow God to live in us AND through us!
Be blessed… and thanks again for the steady flow Kenny T… you bring a smile to my heart and a furrow to my brow (that’s me, thinking) … all at the same time!
