"Working for Christ"

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.” (Genesis 2:15, NIV)


Work is a major part of our lives, and it gives people a sense of value, and sometimes it gives them their purpose. That’s not surprising, since God designed us to work.

Today’s work environment is extremely complex. Your work may be more or less satisfying than someone else’s, your employment security better or worse than another’s, your pay higher or lower than another’s. Work, family, and necessary tasks press us for time and energy. For many of us, satisfaction and dissatisfaction compete for our time throughout the day.

You probably already have an opinion about the value of your work, but ask God to show you where He sees the value in your job. Know that He sees value in morally and ethically decent…
