One Lovely Blog Award

I have received a BLOG award! From fellow blogger notsofancynancy, it is “One Lovely Blog award”.

Here is a little about notsofancynancy:

Her name is Nancy and she says she is not so Fancy. She is fifty something and loves dogs. Right now she ONLY has three dogs. Someday she hopes to blog stories about The Dogs Who have loved her in the past. In fact, there may be a book in the future about her special dogs.

She lives in the High Desert of Southern California and she absolutely loves that people don’t like the desert. That means more room for her!!! 🙂

One of her earlier jobs was leading historical four wheel drive trips in the East Mojave Desert. That sounds like one of the hottest jobs around….

Nancy loves and claims to be a Story Teller, not a writer, and loves telling stories from her past.

Her Claim to fame is sharing stories from her Fathers war letters that he wrote to his girl friend and later his wife. She is also sharing photos from their letter exchanges. This is realy cool stuff. I like to get a fresh cup of coffee, set back, and enjoy her stories. She has a way of writing that makes you think, analyse, ponder, anticipate, laugh, and you can even get attached emotionally. KD Corner     Hi Everyone! I’m K.D. I’ve started this blog to see where it goes. I really want to help other people who may be going through tough times. As a divorced, single mom I have had (and still have) my share of ups and downs. And during those times, my faith in Christ has brought me through. How? Yes, through the Bible, but also through God’s love in action, a smile or encouraging word from a friend, a hug, or even through watching nature. It’s amazing how God’s love shines through in so many varied ways. It is my hope, even if you don’t believe in Christ, to be that one who is here to give you that word, that virtual hug or smile to let you know that you can make it. I pray that you will find hope whenever you come to K.D. Corner. Be blessed. You can make it! You DO matter! God LOVES you!

Captain Duff     While working with my students, I learned how to blog and thought, aha. This is it! I’ll get a blog going and record his stories as he tells them. So, my niece Megan, set us up with a blog and Dad and I have been moving forward ever since that was four weeks ago.

Dad was a pilot during World War II, did air-traffic control, was a supervisor at the Canada Manpower Centre in Barrie, co-owned the New Lowell General Store, sold real estate, and was a hobby farmer growing and selling raspberries and making maple syrup….

Memories on the Journey     Welcome to our journey! We are Mark & Joy Kwong, & this is our journey of moving our family from the USA to China. Why would we want to do that? To begin with, I was raised in Hong Kong & have always wanted to bring my family to live in & explore the culture there. Secondly, we both very much believe that every American child MUST live out of the country for a year or more before they will ever truly appreciate just how blessed they are as Americans. Lastly, after many years of thinking about this move & much time in prayer, everything is falling into place as God makes a way…..

Marking our Territory     Hi, my name is Will, and the handsome gentleman next to me is Mr. Eko, my Rhodesian Ridgeback. We make a pretty good team; Eko has the brains, looks and personality, and I provide the driver’s license, credit card and comedic relief. Like any good team, our team has always had a goal – to find adventure. Eko and I love exploring new places, meeting new people and seeing what the world has to offer…..

Work 4 Christ      If you are like most people, you spend more time at work than you do at home or in church. Most of us work forty hours per week and, if we’re lucky, we get to take the weekends off. Keeping God first can be extremely difficult. In many cases, our work life takes the spirituality right out of us and leaves us feeling completely empty. We often feel that there is nothing left to give when the weekend finally does arrive. An hour at church just doesn’t seem to be enough to get rejuvenated before the next work day.

At Working for Christ, we want to help. We have designed this site to offer you some of the biblical tools necessary to help you take Christ to work with you…..

Hover Craft Doggy      We are two aspiring architects, an Athenian and a Berliner who found each other in the Netherlands, where we are pursuing our passion for all things beautiful. This is where we would like to collect and share the many things we see and find every day. From art and architecture, fashion and furniture to designs and destinations, photography and funny things…

P47KOJI      Families are the result of decades of relationships, twists of fate and world events. It is unbelievable how one decision can ultimately determine how many descendants will be brought into this world or what happens to them.

Twists of fate and world events can put siblings on opposite sides of a fence. In my case, my uncle donned on the uniform of the Japanese Imperial Army during World War II and died on Leyte. My father, although a US citizen like my uncle who was killed, was imprisoned in stateside camps during WWII by President Franklin D. Roosevelt just one among over 110,000 Americans of Japanese descent. Dad then enlisted for the legendary 8th US Army’s Military Intelligence Service after being released from camp.

I hope you will find the stories and family photos intertwined with World War II to be fascinating…..

Marks View From the Bleachers      Hi! My name is Mark Feldbauer; I am a Backyard Grill Master. I’m not a pro and I do not go to competitions. My reason for becoming a Blogger on BBQ is really pretty simple. Folks love my BBQ and grill work and I’m a story teller! My wife Lorie has become very involved with my grilling, cooking and taking our love for outdoor cooking to a new level. I hope to share my experiences, recipes, thoughts and ideas with you folks out there who are just beginning to grill and cook outdoors or the many of you who wish to have a better grilling and outdoor cooking experience.

Rig Mover      Who is Rigmover? Well I’m a Kiwi, living in London, and as part of a small team I move drilling platforms, not by hand of course, we use boats called AHV’s (Anchor Handling Vessels). We move and position them all over the World. I work mainly way north of Scotland to anywhere in the Med, this picture of me was taking as we towed a rig into Haifa (Israel) you can see the AHV in the distance.

I’m not a photographer, just enjoy snapping away at the many sights I get to see as I travel the globe….

Ramblings of a Girl Next Door      I’m just a simple girl doing my very best to do the right things, in the right ways, at the right time and for the right reasons. I often come up short. And on occasion, I can surprise myself.

I love my family, and am in a chapter of my life where I spend a lot of my time taking care of my dad. We’re both pretty young for this, so we’re just winging it to the best of our abilities. I also work in research to prevent moms and babies from dying in Africa and India. A job that far exceeds my ‘cool factor’. The rest of my time is bound up in trying desperately to not be a boring yet. I’ve spent years of my life dedicated to martial arts, bluegrass, jazz, swing dance, running, and more recently, I’m trying my hand at olympic weightlifting. Quite a feat for the spastic girl from down the road. Trust me, as a young women, you will do anything to not be defined exclusively by your desk job, even if it is pretty cool. Which brings me to my latest hobby, blogging. I guess I created this space because I needed to have some sacred blurting space. Everyone needs a space in their life to let their hair down, and this is mine.
